About Me

Hi, I’m Sonya, a Level 7 qualified dyslexia assessor and specialist teacher based in Little Sutton, Cheshire. I provide professional dyslexia assessments and cognitive assessments for children and young people across the North West, including the Wirral and Liverpool.

As a qualified dyslexia assessor, I carry out full diagnostic assessments for dyslexia for children up to age 18. I also provide a range of cognitive assessments to help identify potential barriers to learning and to build a clear understanding of each child’s individual learning profile.

I hold a Bachelor of Education (Hons) and a PGCE in Specific Learning Difficulties, and bring over 26 years of experience in primary education, including 23 years specialising in Special Educational Needs. Throughout my career, I have supported children with a wide range of additional needs and worked closely with families and schools to ensure each child receives the understanding and support they deserve.

My approach is child-centred, thorough and compassionate. I aim to help children understand how they learn best, develop practical and effective strategies, and grow in confidence.

I work in partnership with parents, schools and other professionals to provide clear recommendations and tailored support — ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive and fulfil their true potential.
